Hi, there! My name is Courtney Chan and ​I am a Master’s student at York University’s Psychology Department in the Social & Personality Area. I am currently studying under the supervision of Dr. Kerry Kawakami in the Social Cognition Lab. My current interests include implicit bias (particularly in the context of racial prejudice), emotions, social categorization, and impression management. I believe that the field of psychology would benefit from further research focused on intersectionality and implicit attitudes. The spread of information can help uplift historically disenfranchised communities and I hope to play a part in transferring knowledge from my place of privilege to help uplift those who need it most.
